Description
Sulphur Crested Cockatoos are large parrots ranging between 44-51 centimetres in length and a wingspan of around 103 centimetres. These birds generally make loud screeching noises and they are capable of imitating speech and other sounds. They are considered to be brilliant parrots that have the same learning capability as that of a 2 year old child.
Occasionally they are kept as pets but they must not be kept alone as they are incredibly social and need constant attention. They can live in the wild for up to 40 years, but when in captivity their can can exceed as long as 80 years. So think twice before you get one as a pet as they will probably out live you!
